A Great Mega Man-Like Went Free To Mark The Announcement Of Its Sequel

Domesticated Ant Games and Dear Villagers are currently giving the Mega Man-inspired platformer Gravity Circuit away for free to celebrate the announcement of its sequel.

At The Mix Summer Game Showcase, which also featured a release date announcement for Wild Blue Skies, Gravity Circuit 2 was unveiled with a 2027 release window. The sequel looks like it will deliver more of what the first game did well, which is Mega Man-inspired action-platforming with a retro aesthetic.

It adds Cable, a new playable character who has longer-range attacks than the melee-focused Kirk. Gravity Circuit 2’s story is set years after the first game’s, and it will expand on the number of customizable abilities that players will have at their disposal as they play through the game and find new booster chips, burst techniques, and circuit shards.

To get more people familiar with Gravity Circuit before its sequel arrives next year, the game is available for free on Steam between now and 1 PM ET on June 14.

Gravity Circuit was actually one of GameSpot’s hidden gems of 2023, with Steve Watts writing at the time that the game “wears its influences on its sleeve but doesn’t let itself be constrained or confined by them.” I can similarly vouch for Gravity Circuit being a fantastic Mega Man-like, as it nails emulating the overall aesthetic and tightly designed levels of those Capcom classics while still standing out with a more melee-focused approach.

Now that Gravity Circuit is available for free, there’s no reason not to add it to your Steam library. If you want to pick it up elsewhere, the game is also available at a discounted price of $8.79 on PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch right now.

As for Gravity Circuit 2, it will launch on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch in 2027. A new Mega Man game titled Dual Override is also set for release next year.
