We are getting more and more rumors about the Metro series! In fact, a new installment could be announced as early as next week. In the meantime, we have a leak regarding a canceled version of the fourth game.
This iteration of Metro 4 is said to date back to 2022. A ZIP file of approximately 120 GB has been uploaded online containing various details. According to the information, the story would have taken place between January 2033 and December 2034. Players would have controlled a hunter in a fully open-world environment featuring a crafting system and various types of ammunition.
Our character was clad in an upgradeable NBC suit. A system of rumors relayed by radio stations was also planned, and our hunter could either confirm or debunk them. Examples such as the claim that alcohol mitigated radiation or that women wearing NBC suits could shoot faster than men are mentioned.
In this Metro 4, the player would have been able to explore the subway tunnels and the outside world. Among other details, we can mention the presence of several factions, as well as a barter-based economy. Finally, Artyom, the protagonist of the novels, would have been relegated to the background of the gameβs universe. The story would have been based on the book Metro 2034.
