An RX 9070 flashed with an XT BIOS gains up to 25% in performance

A Reddit user shared their experience after flashing a non-XT RX 9070 GPU with the RX 9070 XT BIOS. The result: noticeable gains in both in benchmarks and video games.

In 3DMark Steel Nomad, the card went from 5821 points to 6461 points with the XT BIOS, and up to 7277 points after additional adjustments (+25%). In gaming, the gains are more modest but still real: in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, the FPS went from around 70 to 78 on average.

The modification does not unlock new computing cores, but increases the power limit, allowing for higher frequencies.
