SanDisk announces a new line of SSDs for the PS5, including an 8 TB one priced at nearly $3,000

SanDisk has announced its new Optimus GX PRO SSD lineup this week. These models are officially licensed by PlayStation to ensure full compatibility with the PS5 and PS5 Pro.

Of course, given the current supply crisis, prices are relatively high. The 1 TB version will set you back $380. Prices climb from there, with the 2 TB model at $760 and the 4 TB model at $1,500. For the 8 TB SSD, you’ll need to shell out $2,960.

A year ago, a nearly identical 8 TB SSD designed by SanDisk cost $640, representing a 370% increase.
