Xbox still has a lot of work to do to win over gamers

Microsoft’s financial results were released this week. While the multinational is doing exceptionally well, its gaming division is lagging behind. Xbox revenue has declined, as have revenues from content and services.

Despite these mixed results, Asha Sharma didn’t shy away from the issue when she briefly addressed the topic on X. The Xbox president acknowledges that there is still a lot of work to be done to attract new players.

« Xbox’s financial results were released today. While we’ve made progress in expanding our business and margins, growth in player numbers and revenue hasn’t met our ambitions yet. We know we have work to do to win over every player today and in the future. »

As part of its new strategy, Xbox wants to focus on the number of daily active players within its ecosystem. The company will need to find ways to retain its users and keep them coming back every day.
