
Ubisoft is definitely going through a period of extreme tension. In addition to layoffs and studio closures, the French company received a bomb threat on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
The email, which reported the presence of an explosive device at Ubisoft Montpellier’s premises in Castelnau-le-Lez, was sent to the town’s police station. As a result, the studio’s 800 employees were immediately evacuated. The Midi Libre website reports that around 30 soldiers were mobilized on site to try to locate the explosive device.
After several hours of searching, no such device was found. It was therefore likely a prank in very poor taste. A judicial investigation has nevertheless been opened.
