As rumours predicted, a Nintendo Direct will take place this week dedicated to third party games.
Weāve already had two Nintendo Directs this year, for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream and the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but now another has been officially announced.
As confirmed via the Nintendo Today app, a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will take place on Thursday, February 5 at 2pm GMT on YouTube. This was rumoured last week by multiple insiders, so it was largely expected.
A description reads: āThe livestreamed presentation will feature roughly 30 minutes of upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games from publishing and development partners.ā
In other words, donāt expect any first party Nintendo titles, like a new 3D Mario or Splatoon Raiders, to show up in the showcase.

Itās likely this presentation will be hinged around upcoming Switch 2 ports. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was delayed from 2025 to sometime this year, so itās possible weāll get a specific release date.
Likewise, we donāt have dates for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, and several others.
The most exciting possibility is an update on FromSoftwareās Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods. We know relatively little about the PvPvE action role-player, aside from its dark fantasy setting and vampiric characters, and considering itās supposed to be out this year, thereās a chance it will show up in some capacity.
It is published by Nintendo but since developer FromSoftware is not owned by them they probably count it as a third party title, although it is a bit of a grey area.
Another possibility is the announcement of Bloober Teamās mysterious Switch exclusive. The developers have said the unnamed horror title takes inspiration from Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo, and Eternal Darkness, and they teased it will be revealed āvery soonā back in December.
Thereās also a strong chance weāll see a smattering of indie game announcements too, like a release date for the long-delayed Mina The Hollower, an update on Witchbrook, and titles weāre not even aware of yet.
Beyond this Direct, itās unclear when weāll see a presentation for Nintendoās first party slate. However, a PokĆ©mon Presents event is expected to take place on February 27 to celebrate PokĆ©mon Day and the franchiseās 30th anniversary.
That will mean four separate Nintendo Direct style events before we ever get to the first party one that fans are dying for.
