This January 15, the actress who played Sheva Alomar in Resident Evil 5 raised doubts about an announcement about the game. Some saw this as a sign of a remake, but that is unlikely to be the case.
Insider Dusk Golem, who is generally well-informed about the Capcom franchise, pointed out that a new version of Resident Evil 5 is not in development. However, he added that another remake will be announced in 2026. According to him, it will be Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
In the past, Dusk Golem had estimated that this remake would be released in 2027. Finally, a modernized version of Resident Evil 0 is also in the works and expected in 2028.

It’s exciting to hear about the potential announcement for the Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake! The series has such a rich history, and it will be interesting to see how they bring this classic back to life. Looking forward to more updates!
