A 2024 PS5, PS4 RPG has been quietly delisted from the PS Store, and its publisher has not commented on the matter. JRPG farm sim SunnySide was most recently on sale in November, and there was no indication that it would be removed from sale.

PS5, PS4 RPG SunnySide only delisted from PS Store thus far

SunnySide is still available for purchase on Steam and Xbox stores, so the PS Store delisting is curious.

Developed by RainyGames, SunnySide was published by Merge Games, which itself is a subsidiary of publisher Maximum Entertainment. In September 2024, Merge Games was shut down by Maximum Entertainment after 15 years of operation. However, the closure did not impact SunnySide.

SunnySide was announced in 2022 and looked quite promising at the time. Unfortunately, however, the final product wasn’t exactly what players had hoped for. RainyGames issued an apology for the state of the game on consoles and blamed a different company for the botched port.

“Honestly, we didn’t even see the console version of the game until the pressed discs were sent to us,” RainyGames said a year ago. “It’s 100% out of our hands, and that is a very painful thing to deal with, especially knowing how much it’s hurting you all.”
