2026 is shaping up to be a very big year for Blizzard Entertainment. World of Warcraft will receive its โMidnightโ expansion, Diablo IV will get Lord of Hatred, and Overwatch will celebrate its 10th anniversary. BlizzCon will also be back in September.
In an interview with Variety ahead of The Game Awards, Blizzard President Johanna Faries clearly wanted to build hype among gamers.
“If you’re a Blizzard fan or just curious about our major franchises, know that our teams are hard at work on some exciting projects. We’re extremely proud of what’s coming, not only at BlizzCon, but also in the days leading up to the event. So, we’re all on deck! It’s a really exciting time.”
Faries also added that 2026 will be the most important year in the company’s history.
“The teams across Blizzard entirely, as an organization, are gearing up for what we hope to be the biggest year yet for Blizzard, and we take that statement very seriously. And itโs all part of this new, bold vision for the future, as I mentioned before.”
