Announced by developers 1047 Games, the free-to-play shooter Splitgate 2 will be relaunched under the name SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC on December 17.
In a statement, Art Director Josh Watson said:
“Splitgate has always been a love letter to the arena shooters we grew up with. We’ve worked hard to rebuild the game from the ground up, taking the best of Splitgate 1 and Splitgate 2, removing what didn’t work, and refining what did.”
They also announced that a mini-documentary chronicling the evolution of the next chapter of Splitgate will be released on December 9. It will highlight their commitment to the arena subgenre and active community participation.
For the record, Josh Watson was previously Game Director at Rocket League.
