Official PS5 Pro Covers Nowhere to Be Found a Year After Launch

PS5 Pro covers

Players are expressing their frustration as there’s no sign of official PS5 Pro covers a year after the console’s launch. Sony confirmed last October that PS5 Pro plates would be sold separately but that day never came. The only covers we got were Ghost of Yotei plates that were available in limited quantities and in select markets only.

Sony promised PS5 Pro covers, but only released one limited edition set

“PS5 console covers are not compatible with PS5 Pro,” Sony told IGN in October 2024. “However, players will be able to swap out different console covers for PS5 Pro when they become available in the future.”

Although players have been buying covers from third-party sellers, there are issues in terms of access to those sellers, and sometimes, the covers don’t necessarily fit right or aren’t of good quality.

It’s unclear what’s taking Sony so long or if it even plans to release standard PS5 Pro plates, like it does for the base console. They are merely an accessory and don’t impact players’ experience with the PS5 Pro, but we’ve got to admit that this lack of support isn’t a good look.

For now, we recommend that PS5 Pro players use AliExpress if they want to replace the stock plates.
