Blizzard will offer virtual currency for World of Warcraft’s Housing

World of Warcraft Housing will be available in early access starting December 2, 2025. Players will be able to obtain a house and, more importantly, decorate it. Blizzard has also thought about monetizing this feature.

A virtual currency called Hearthsteel was announced in an article published on the American company’s website. This currency, which will officially debut with the launch of the Midnight expansion, can be purchased with real money on Battle.net.

It will allow players to purchase various decorative items for their homes. Blizzard points out, however, that most furniture and accessories will be available in-game and that only a small portion will be available for purchase through the store. This can be compared to mounts, with several thousand available to earn in-game compared to a few dozen available for purchase.

Home items will be available for individual purchase. Packs containing several items on sale may also be available. Prices will be clearly displayed and aligned with the amounts of Hearthsteel offered for purchase.

Finally, Hearthsteel will be exclusive to housing, and the store interface should be intuitive and easy to understand.
