2K Games is working on a major new sports franchise

Since Electronic Arts terminated its partnership with FIFA to launch EA Sports FC, rumors have been swirling about the arrival of a new soccer simulation game from another publisher. And 2K Games seems to be well positioned to take on such a project.

On LinkedIn, Matt McKie proudly announced his appointment as vice president of marketing for 2K. He has previously worked for Manchester United football club, sportswear manufacturer Nike, and most notably for Electronic Arts on FIFA.

In his message, he also states that “we are building a world-class team to fully realize our uncompromising vision for 2K’s next blockbuster sports franchise”. While he does not reveal the identity of this “sports franchise”, it could be a football license.
