25 years ago, MTG’s Seventh Edition set quietly changed the game forever

By far, however, I have the greatest number of cards from Seventh Edition, including my childhood favorite: a foil Thorn Elemental. I remember relishing the cool art, even though I was hardly ever able to get this big stompy threat onto the battlefield. Early Magic just didn’t have enough ramp for me to get it out before my erudite best friend crushed me with his annoying blue deck every single time we played.
