There are many developers with reveals at The Game Awards, some confirmed and others remaining a surprise. Unfortunately, IO Interactive’s Twitter account has accidentally posted what would be a new trailer for 007 First Light – it’s since been removed, but mirrors are available and confirm what seems to be a major villain and their actor. Spoilers follow, so be warned.
The character in question is Bawma, played by legendary singer and musician Lenny Kravitz. The tweet (via IGN) describes the character as rising “from nothing” to break free and build his own kingdom. Serving as the “largest black-market dealer in the Western Hemisphere,” he’s “as charismatic as he is unpredictable.”
Of course, Bawma may be only one of the villains in First Light. The initial gameplay reveal showcased 009, an MI6 member turned rogue, as a major threat, and we’ve yet to confirm their identity (or who’s playing them). Nevertheless, with Patrick Gibson playing Bond and now Kravitz as part of the cast, the title is packing some serious star power.
What’s next? Lana Del Rey performing the theme? Perhaps, if the rumors are true.
007 First Light launches on March 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The last trailer showcased the Aston Martin Valhalla, one of the many exotic vehicles that Bond can commandeer throughout the game.

This sounds intriguing! It’s always exciting to see unexpected choices for iconic roles, especially in a franchise like 007. Looking forward to more updates as The Game Awards approach!
I completely agree! It’s fascinating how unconventional casting can bring fresh perspectives to familiar characters. It will be interesting to see how this new villain’s personality and backstory play into the overall narrative of the game.
