Last July, Microsoft carried out a major purge, laying off staff and canceling several projects. Among these was Blackbird, an MMORPG developed by ZeniMax Online Studios.
Since then, the creators of The Elder Scrolls Online have seen their president leave the company and former employees found other studios. However, ZeniMax Online Studios may well be working on another project.
Katiya Goodman, who was a producer at the company before joining Bethesda Game Studios last February, mentions on LinkedIn the existence of a “new unannounced project in pre-production”. Her work spanned from July to October 2025, which means that it is not Blackbird.
We know nothing else about this mysterious title other than the fact that it was in development last year by a small team of 5 to 15 developers.
