Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties review: the remake of the third entry in the franchise gets decent scores

Among this week’s big releases is Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, scheduled for launch on February 11, 2026. The latest title from RGG Studio will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.

The remake of Yakuza 3 currently has an average Metacritic score of 75% on PS5 (36 reviews), 75% on PC (9 reviews), and 79% on Switch 2 (8 reviews). On OpenCritic, the score is 75% (47 reviews).

While not without its flaws, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties still boasts enjoyable gameplay, fun side activities, and an interesting new story.

Unfortunately, the experience is marred by a sloppy retcon, dated graphics, an overly simplistic combat, and a less memorable cast than that of the original.
