Xbox Releases Potential GOTY For Free, New DLC Days Away

You can play one of the best games of 2025 for free on Xbox, ahead of its new DLC just days away.

Despite its recent price hike, which has risen as much as 50% in some regions, Xbox Game Pass still offers decent value for money. Depending on the tier that you subscribe to, ‘Ultimate’ being the highest, you will have tons more games to play instantly, as well as other perks.

Every month or so, Microsoft runs its ‘Free Play Days’ weekend campaign. As the name of this campaign suggests, you can play select Xbox games for free.

Most games will require the minimal Xbox Game Pass subscription to play. While some games are free for all regardless, during the promotion period.

However, some games included in ‘Free Play Days’ might be in the ‘Ultimate’ tier, which allows subscribers to play a game that might not be available in the tier they pay for.

One game that looks to be included in ‘Free Play Days’ this weekend is one of the best games released this year, and that’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Yet, some hoped that it might be coming to Xbox Game Pass instead.

In our review, GAMINGbible alumni, Emma, said: “To truly experience the breadth of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, you need to embrace all avenues.

“I don’t wish to pooh-pooh how people game, for it’s a pastime you have control over like nowhere else. Still, to follow only the well-beaten road is to waste the effort taken to develop this ambitious sequel.”

Is Kingdom Come: Deliverance II included in Xbox Game Pass?

Not at the time of writing. Some may have thought that the game was coming to Xbox Game Pass, but that was soon cleared up by Reddit user Kn1ghtV1sta.

“Heads up: if you see Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, it’s not actually on Game Pass, it’s only for Free Play Days,” said the Redditor in question. “I saw a different thread where people were assuming it was, but wanted to clarify, so people didn’t get their hopes up too high.”

It’s worth keeping in mind that Microsoft hasn’t officially confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is included in the upcoming ‘Free Play Days’ this weekend, despite being installable if you subscribe to the ‘Ultimate’, ‘Premium’ or ‘Essential’ tiers.

Typically, Microsoft announces the ‘Free Play Days’ titles on Thursday, so hopefully, the official announcement is just hours away. Expect a few other games to also be included in the promotion.

Developed by Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. As for its upcoming DLC, ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’, that will arrive on 11 November 2025 across all available platforms.
