Things may already be changing at Microsoft Gaming following the appointment of Asha Sharma as the division’s new CEO. Heavily criticized for many months, the brand’s marketing strategy is expected to change dramatically in the near future.
Two new positions have been created at Xbox with the aim of revitalizing the company’s communications. Two experienced marketing managers are currently being sought to “design and implement Xbox’s communication strategy with its fans” for all devices and ecosystems.
The position encompasses the launch of upcoming Xbox games, as well as player acquisition, retention, and ongoing engagement. In addition, one of these two roles is intended for a specific “iconic RPG franchise”. The senior product marketing manager will be responsible for driving the communication strategy for this license. Could it be The Elder Scrolls VI? It’s too early to say.
In any case, we can expect some changes in Xbox’s marketing strategy soon enough.
