Xbox Game Pass Gets Finest Horror Ever, With Free DLC

One of the best horror games of recent years is now available with Xbox Game Pass, and even better, it comes with free DLC.

Despite its price hikes and revised service in 2025, the Xbox Game Pass subscription service still offers plenty of value for money, regardless of the tier you choose.

Xbox Game Pass Gets A Banger Horror Game!

Many will consider Capcom’s Resident Evil series to be the best of the survival horror genre, and as an obsessed fan, I’m inclined to agree. However, it wasn’t always sunshine and roses for the series.

From 2012, the series was at its lowest point with poor quality games such as Resident Evil 6 and Umbrella Corps. Though I’d argue that Resident Evil Revelations 2 perhaps deserved more love than it received. Either way, the series still deserved better.

Then, in 2017, we were treated to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a game that many credit for saving the series. RE7 brought back the horror tenhold, and now, in a first-person perspective, that horror became up-close and personal.

Without giving anything away, you, as the faceless protagonist, Ethan Winters, are on the search for his missing wife, who ends up at the Baker compound. To say that this is a scary family would be an understatement, and it’s fair to say that you don’t want to accept their dinner invite.

Yes, that’s right, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is now included in Xbox Game Pass at no extra cost, regardless of the tier. As a bonus, you can even download its already free DLC ‘Not a Hero’, which sees the return of a fan-favourite character.

There’s no telling how long Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will stay in Xbox Game Pass, but it’s likely that you’ll have plenty of months to check it out. With it also having a new story arc with a new protagonist, it’s also a great game for newcomers.

“Yeah, it is going to be installed as soon as I get home from work,” said Redditor Weary-Masterpiece706.

“I wanna play it, but man, it’s so scary,” exclaimed Nicholite46.

RE7 is terrifying through most of the game, kept me on edge, it felt so thrilling,” commented stainedbox.
