World's First PokéPark Kanto Theme Park Opens Its Doors in Feb 2026

The Pokémon Company has announced the opening date for PokéPark KANTO: February 5, 2026. Fans should note that it will be a permanent theme park.

Today’s announcement from The Pokémon Company put another exciting spin on in-person physical Pokémon experiences. The first-ever outdoor Pokémon attraction, PokéPark KANTO, will open for business in a massive 26,000 square meters of Yomiuriland in Tokyo’s Tama Hills, and trainers will be invited to explore the Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town. These are two permanent attractions offering a variety of Pokémon merchandise for visitors, and The Pokémon Company has released a trailer showcasing the excitement. It can be seen below.

Unfortunately for those located outside of Japan, PokéPark KANTO will only have one location opening in February 2026, and fans will have to travel to Yomiuriland in Tokyo’s Tama Hills to visit. The Pokémon Forest is a trail filled with statues of Pokémon from across the series, and Pokémon will be seen in their natural habitats. Despite the name of PokéPark, non-Kanto native Pokémon will also appear inside Pokémon Forest, similar to how Melmetal was made obtainable in the Let’s Go Nintendo Switch titles, which otherwise took place entirely in the Kanto Pokémon region.

Sedge Town, on the other hand, will feature shopping and Poké Mart attractions. Sedge Town also has performance spaces, and of course, The Pokémon Center. The Pokémon Center will feature Chansey and let trainers watch as Pokémon friends recover in the Center’s Healing Machine, just like in the games and anime. The town also hosts parades featuring Pikachu and Eevee, and there’s an area where Pokémon welcomes visitors to the theme park. As part of Sedge Town, The Pokémon Company has announced Pika Pika Sparks, described as a “special show featuring Pikachu and friends along with performers, enhanced by music, light, and a slew of other stage effects.”
