Those who downloaded the Windows 11 KB5074109 update released on January 13 for versions 24H2 and 25H2 should be careful! While this update was supposed to provide several hundred security fixes, it also causes plenty of bugs.
Internet users have reported black screens that freeze the desktop for one to two seconds before returning to normal. For now, this bug seems to only affect computers equipped with NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards. We do not yet know the cause of this phenomenon.
Some users have found a temporary solution by changing their screen’s DisplayPort settings. They switched from version 1.4 to version 1.2, before reverting back to 1.4. Finally, other issues have been observed with Outlook and interrupted connections to Azure Virtual Desktop.
