Things are likely to change drastically for Warner Bros. in the coming weeks. If Paramount’s acquisition of the company goes through, there could be budget cuts on the horizon, and the company’s gaming division appears to be on the front lines.
Even before such a scenario was discussed, Warner Bros. Games Montreal appears to have carried out layoffs this week. Several developers have mentioned their dismissals on LinkedIn. Additionally, Eric Bellefeuille, who works at EA Motive, has openly confirmed layoffs at both Warner Bros. and Electronic Arts.
It’s worth noting that WB Games Montreal is the studio behind Gotham Knights (2022) and Batman: Arkham Origins (2013).
