
Some extremely sad news broke on Monday, December 22, 2025. Vince Zampella, who had been in charge of the Battlefield franchise since 2021 and was the founder of Respawn Entertainment and Infinity Ward, has died.
Zampella, 55, lost his life in a car accident. Two other people who were in the vehicle also died. The California Highway Patrol confirmed this information, which was reported by TMZ. The video game designer was behind the wheel when his car struck a concrete barrier.
During his career, Vince Zampella helped create the Call of Duty series and other well-known titles such as Titanfall, Apex Legends, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and more recently Battlefield 6.
