Although their launch was scheduled for the beginning of the year, Valve’s Steam Machine and Steam Frame devices have been delayed due to memory and storage shortages. Since the situation is not improving, a further postponement cannot be ruled out.
In an article dedicated to its review of Steam’s 2025, Valve said it hopes to “launch these devices in the first half of 2026, but the memory and storage shortages we recently reported are making this difficult”. Thus it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Steam Machine and Steam Frame VR headset delayed a second time.
Valve will provide additional information when progress has been made in this area. On Steam, the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller are now listed as coming “soon”.
