With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to check out some spooky games. Thanks to the PS Store, PS5 players can do just that for free with its collection of demos. A recently released demo may be a fun choice for players who want to experience horror games during October.

PS5 game Unmourned expected to release in November, but players can try it for free right now

Developed by Codebros Studio, Unmourned is a first-person psychological horror game. As seen in the trailer below, its gameplay looks similar to modern horror experiences like Outlast, Layers of Fear, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It is expected to be released on November 17 for PC via Steam; a PS5 date has yet to be revealed.

“The story follows Jason, a man who moves into a new house and soon begins to experience disturbing paranormal activities. As he searches for answers, he is haunted by visions of the past, revealing a dark and tragic history tied to the previous owners. The family that once lived there mysteriously disappeared, and as Jason delves deeper into the house’s dark past, he uncovers a hidden door that reveals secrets meant to remain buried forever.”

The PS Store ratings for the Unmourned PS5 demo seem positive overall. Out of the 59 ratings, 66% of them are five-star ratings, and another 5% are four-star ratings. However, 19% of those reviews are one-star ratings. Fortunately, this demo is free, so players can play it before deciding to commit to a full purchase when it releases.

This is just one recently released PS5 horror game demo available to download right now on the PS Store. Dark Atlas: Infernum also has a PS5 demo. Like Unmourned, it is a first-person horror experience that looks to be inspired by Outlast and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
