Upcoming Battlefield 6 Update Aims To Shoot Down Bot-Filled Matches

With almost two weeks on the market now, it’s likely you encountered a bot or two in your online matches while playing Battlefield 6. Well, the team plans to reduce the number of bots filling the lobbies with a new update planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Battlefield Studios–a collection of EA teams working on the Battlefield franchise that includes Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect–took to X on October 21 to share the news. In the brief post, the developers explained that “several backend updates” are coming to facilitate more players and fewer bots in the servers.

Alongside addressing the bot problem, the developers said there are other “backend changes” planned for Battlefield 6 to make matchmaking healthier and curb XP farming. It’s unclear exactly when these “changes” and “updates” will come, but the team said a “more detailed update” outlining the work being done on the military shooter is scheduled to drop on October 22. At the time of writing, however, no update has come out. That said, we’ll monitor the Battlefield Comms X account and update this story whenever the update is revealed.
