Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X is getting a limited-time mode called Wildcards Siege to mark the game’s 10th anniversary, introducing player-voted modifiers that change gameplay each round.
Since launch, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has defied expectations, building a strong competitive scene and attracting more than 100 million players. Now marking its 10-year anniversary, a milestone few online games reach, Ubisoft is introducing something special. From Dec. 15 to Jan. 5, the game will feature a new limited-time mode called Wildcards Siege.
Wildcards Siege places players in a 5v5 bomb match on the reworked House map. This time, however, gameplay comes with a twist. At the start of each round, players vote on modifier cards that can drastically change how the match plays out. The two cards with the most votes are activated, altering the rules in unique and potentially fun ways. In the event of a tie, the game selects the cards at random, adding another layer of unpredictability.
These modifiers vary, but they change how each round works. According to examples Ubisoft gave during the presentation about the mode, they can range from limiting operator choices and forcing certain types of loadouts to much wilder modifiers that are either silly or drastic. Based on the trailer, it looks like a wild ride for players who have been with the game up to this point.
It is great to see Ubisoft supporting Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege this strongly, even 10 years after launch. The community is still excited to dive in daily, and with the new Siege X update, the game looks better than ever. Wildcards Siege appears to be a fun mode, so fans of the game can dive in from Dec. 15 to Jan. 5 to see what wild shenanigans unfold when things get a bit out of control.
