Ubisoft is helping Nintendo improve VRR support for all Switch 2 games

Whether with Star Wars Outlaws or more recently Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has established itself as one of the best studios for Switch 2 ports. So much so that the French publisher has decided to make its expertise available to the Japanese company.

In an interview with the FRVR website, Ubisoft developers said they are now working with Nintendo to “improve VRR support” for Switch 2 games. This applies not only to titles developed by the French publisher, but to all current and future games available on the console.

Before the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 in early December, Ubisoft said it had “developed a dedicated algorithm that keeps VRR enabled at 30 frames per second, ensuring optimal fluidity and responsiveness.” The games then run below the default VRR target of 40 Hz, allowing for a constant frame rate on the most resource-intensive productions.
