Ubisoft has laid off 29 people at its Abu Dhabi studio

It has been a difficult start to the year for Ubisoft employees. Following the closure of its Halifax studio and layoffs at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm, the French company has decided to let a number of employees go.

In fact, 29 people who worked at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi have just been laid off.

*”In November, Ubisoft made the difficult decision to restructure its Abu Dhabi mobile studio, discontinuing some projects in order to focus on Growtopia. As a result, this change impacted 29 team members. We remain deeply grateful for their contributions and are providing support to them throughout the transition.”

Ubisoft’s Abu Dhabi studio opened in 2011 and works on the free-to-play MMO Growtopia as well as other titles for mobile devices.
