You can claim two classic Fallout games for free, but it will soon be the last chance saloon, so make them yours ASAP.
Bethesda’s Fallout series is probably more popular today than it has ever been. Don’t get me wrong, this post-apocalyptic RPG franchise has always been beloved by millions, but largely thanks to Amazon’s live-action series, now in its second season, there are even more eyes on the product.
However, as we all know, Bethesda hasn’t always owned the Fallout series, with its first game arriving in 2006 with Fallout 3. Which just so happens to be my favourite game in the series.
Speaking of Fallout 3, as well as Fallout: New Vegas, fresh rumours have been making the rounds that official remasters are on the way. Please, gaming gods, make that finally happen!
Claim Two Fallout Games For Free
Going back on track, in 1997 and 1998, we were treated to Fallout and Fallout 2, developed by Interplay Productions and Black Isle Studios, respectively. Unlike Fallout 3, which gave players the choice of first and third-person perspectives, the two original games were played in isometric perspectives.
“Fallout 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game that took RPG’ing out of the dungeons and into a dynamic, apocalyptic retro-future. It’s been 80 long years since your ancestors trod across the wastelands,” reads the synopsis of the sequel.
Despite being less technically advanced than all of its successors, many feel that the two original games in the Fallout series are the best, and if you missed what all the fuss is about, now is a great chance to check them out for free.
The only catch is that you need to be a subscriber to Amazon Prime to gain access to its Prime Gaming perks. If you are already a subscriber, you can claim tons of games and DLC every month. It’s a fantastic perk, it has to be said.
It should be stated that both games are only playable on PC, but being as old as they are, I doubt very much that they’d put even a tiny dent in your system. So running them should not be a problem for most modern (ish) PCs and laptops.
However, at the time of writing, you only have 18 days to claim them. But once claimed, they’re yours to keep. Fallout and Fallout 2 are available for free until Monday, 26 January 2026. So act now, before it’s too late.
