Top Spooky Streams To Bring Out The Horror Fan's Halloween Spirit

Halloween 2025 is right around the corner, and to get fans prepared to sit in front of the TV to watch frightening features, CGMagazine has compiled a list of spooky streaming options to keep fans in the Holiday spirit.

Let’s face it, if you’re like me, you spend more time searching for what to watch on streaming services than actually watching something. It’s hard to select and commit to a feature when you always feel like you’re leaving something on the table. Where horror streaming is concerned, there are a ton of options.

Halloween is a great time for a family to get together and join in on a communal fright, or shy away from the TV in fear that whatever’s on it will leap off the screen and attack. Very much like CGMagazine’s list of Top Horror Games For Halloween (for fans to get behind the sticks to join in on the horror), we have compiled another spooky return for Halloween, and this time, spooky streaming is on the menu.

With that in mind, we here at CGMagazine have scoured streaming services in search of the best frights for 2025. While any Halloween enthusiast could flee to the Shudder streaming service for endless horror entertainment (or head to Disney+ to watch Hocus Pocus), we searched the other services to round up the best options to stream on Hallow’s Eve.

Based on personal opinion and general review score consensus, below are some options to watch on TV and forget about on October 31. Whether it’s date night, you need background noise for a party, or watching an old classic, below are some spooky streaming options to bring out the fear for Halloween.

Sinners

The film that took over the entertainment world this year with standout performances from Michael B. Jordan (as twin brothers) and Hailee Steinfeld is now available on HBO MAX via streaming. With directing credits for Creed III, and Black Panther, Ryan Coogler serves up a genre-bending period piece film that hits all the right notes without ever letting the audience feel settled. With a top-notch story, an unsettling atmosphere, world-class talent, and darkness lurking under a chic veneer of normalcy in 1932, Sinners is a must-watch film for Halloween 2025. Halloween celebrants watching Sinners (or any of the other films on this list) should be wary of young audiences; this film is firmly R-rated.

28 Years Later

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple's First Trailer Exposes Survivor Bloodlust & Ralph Fiennes Returns

The third installment of the decades-long zombie franchise, 28 Years Later, has found a home on Netflix. The long-awaited return of directors Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland to the world they created with 28 Days Later is here. With 28 Years Later, Boyle and Garland didn’t rest on their laurels and recycle old ideas to keep the franchise stuck in the same old horror tropes; instead, they took strides to build the Rage Virus world as it would look 28 years after the virus took the world by storm in the first installment.

CGMagazine’s review of 28 Years Later calls it, “a very welcome return to the franchise.” Alongside 28 Years Later, 28 Days Later can also be found on Netflix for Halloween 2025. The middle child, 28 Weeks Later, is available on Hulu. Fans can experience the entire franchise without exiting the living room, which is more than you can say about the tormented characters in the zombie apocalypse on screen.

Weapons

Weapons Review

Director Zach Cregger has come a long way since co-founding The Whitest Kids U’ Know, and his latest horror film, Weapons, proves it. With Weapons, Cregger pulls out all the stops to expertly craft a horror flick that never lets the audience settle into their seats. With storytelling that continuously pulls on threads revealing more sinister narrative beats, the most shocking element of Weapons is how easily it lets the audience believe they know what’s going to happen next, but Cregger gives no preparation for how actually horrifying it will end up.

CGMagazine’s review for Weapons says, “From the very beginning, the film leaves you in a constant state of unease,” and praises the film for not relying heavily on jump scares. Weapons is a crucible in tension and horror suspense, and for Halloween 2025, you can find it on HBO MAX, or YouTube with a primetime subscription.

Below, fans can find a list of more horror to sink their teeth into, and the streaming service they can be found on. All were intended to keep fans celebrating and stop scrolling through options for Halloween.
