2018’s Tomb Raider movie starring Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander is surging up the popularity charts on Netflix. According to Netflix’s global streaming data, the film was the No. 9 most-watched movie on Netflix globally for the week of December 22 through December 28.
The two-hour movie tallied 4.2 million views and 8.2 million streaming hours. It’s now had two weeks inside the top 10 on Netflix’s global streaming charts.
The success of the action movie during the Christmas week is notable, in part because many of the other films are comprised of holiday movies, with The Grinch ranking No. 1, How the Grinch Stole Christmas coming in at No. 4, My Secret Santa at No. 6, The Christmas Chronicles at No. 7, and Jingle Bell Heist at No. 10.
