Tomb Raider Players Marking Their Calendars For 14 February

Tomb Raider fans are marking their calendars for two weeks’ time, with many believing a potential announcement or surprise release may take place.

14 February is an important date. Not only is it Valentine’s Day, but many Tomb Raider fans will also recognise the date as Lara Croft’s birthday.

Crystal Dynamics has often used the date to make fun announcements or surprise releases, such as the excellent remasters of the first six games, or the official 25th anniversary cookbook.

With 2026 marking the 30th anniversary for the franchise, fans are expecting Crystal Dynamics to do something big to commemorate the occasion.

Tomb Raider Fans Are Ready For More News

As shared on the Tomb Raider Reddit page, one fan asks “as we are celebrating 30 years of Tomb Raider this year, do you think we are going to get anything on the 14th, being as its Lara’s birthday?”.

“Whatever we get i hope it’s LoA related,” writes one fan in the comments section, with “LoA” referring to Legacy of Atlantis, the new remake coming from Crystal Dynamics later this year.

“Two nice, substantial patches for the Remastered versions,” writes another fan. While the remasters have been quite well received, there are some features fans feel the games are lacking at the moment, like a level select.

Another comment listed off a few ideal wishes for the 14th, including “Rise [of the Tomb Raider], and maybe Shadow [of the Tomb Raider], ported to Switch 2” and “Brief Sophie Turner TV show teaser or BTS stuff”.

With the previous two dates in 2025 and 2024 respectively bringing us the remasters from Aspyr, plus Crystal Dynamics teasing a new collaboration with Aspyr for this year, many fans are hoping for a remastered collection of the Legend trilogy.

The Legend trilogy (or, “LAU” as it’s also referred to) comprises the three games that were released between 2006 and 2008; Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Tomb Raider Underworld.

2027’s Tomb Raider Catalyst will be a sequel of sorts to Underworld, so it makes sense for Crystal Dynamics to bring out a new updated version of that timeline at some point in the near future.

“Kinda would adore a shadow drop of LAU because it would fit the way they went the last two years with making every tomb raider game accessible on the newest generation, and with bringing LAU on a remastered level would make the entire franchise easily available for a complete playthrough,” writes another fan.

With less than two weeks to go until the 14th February, we’ll keep an eye out for any announcements that could be made as part of Lara’s birthday celebrations.
