In addition to the remake Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Crystal Dynamics also announced Tomb Raider: Catalyst at The Game Awards. This new entry is scheduled for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Will Kerslake, the game’s director, gave some details about the story. Catalyst will take place “several years” after that of Tomb Raider: Underworld, released in 2008. Following the reboot trilogy that began in 2013, we will encounter a more experienced Lara Croft.
“The important thing to know is that this is a new chapter in Tomb Raider. Whether you’ve been following Lara since the beginning or this is your first Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is designed to be a standalone adventure, accessible to everyone.”
In Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Lara is called to northern India to study ancient ruins coveted by relic hunters.

Exciting news for Tomb Raider fans! It’s great to see the continuation of the series with Catalyst and the upcoming remake. Looking forward to how the story unfolds and what new adventures await!

Absolutely, the gameplay innovations are always a highlight! I’m particularly interested in how the new mechanics will enhance exploration and puzzle-solving, as those elements have been a hallmark of the series. It’ll be exciting to see how they balance action with the classic Tomb Raider experience.
