Developer CD Projekt will publish an unannounced project ‘in the coming quarters’, as it reveals how many people are working on The Witcher 4.
While The Witcher 4 is the studio’s most anticipated title, there are several other games in the works at CD Projekt.
Along with the sequel to The Witcher 3, the studio is developing Cyberpunk 2, an original IP codenamed Project Hadar, and a multiplayer spin-off for The Witcher codenamed Project Sirius. Beyond these titles, the studio is also collaborating with external studio Fool’s Theory on a remake of the original Witcher, which is still early in development.
All of these games are officially in the pipeline, but over recent months there have been rumours of another in-development project which hasn’t been announced yet: new DLC for The Witcher 3.
Mutiple sources suggest new DLC for The Witcher 3 exists, and now fans believe CD Projekt has dropped some hints of its own, in its latest financial report.
In a report for the period ending December 2025, the studio states that it plans to ‘publish’ an unannounced project in the ‘coming quarters’.

The report reads: ‘In the coming quarters, the studio will focus primarily on further development work on ongoing projects; we also plan to publish one of the heretofore unannounced gaming projects.’
While there’s no indication of what this project is, CD Projekt’s CEO Michał Nowakowski said during an accompanying earnings call that they plan to ‘reveal more information’ about a specific project in development at Fool’s Theory ‘later this year’.
We know Fool’s Theory is working on The Witcher remake, which is set to launch sometime after The Witcher 4, based on prior comments from CD Projekt. But rumours suggest the studio is also attached to The Witcher 3’s unannounced DLC.
In a financial report from last year, CD Projekt also said it had another undisclosed project in the works at Fool’s Theory.
As such, some fans have taken these comments as hints that DLC for The Witcher 3 could launch later this year. If more DLC for The Witcher 3 exists, it would make sense for it to come out sooner rather than later, with The Witcher 4 expected to launch sometime in 2027.
Elsewhere, CD Projekt confirmed The Witcher 4 is the main priority at the studio, with 499 people working on the game internally. As noted in a presentation, there are 933 developers in total at CD Projekt, so it’s over half of the whole team.
Of the remaining developers, 149 are working on Cyberpunk 2, 71 are developing Project Sirius, 26 are on Project Hadar, while the rest are on ‘shared services’. Project Hadar has also entered the ‘conceptual phase’, although there are no details about the new IP.
That is a lot of people, confirming CD Projekt as one of the biggest developers in the world, although not all of them are based in a single location.
As for what we know about The Witcher 4, it’s the planned first instalment of a new trilogy led by Geralt’s adoptive daughter, Ciri. It’s being developed for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
