Geralt and friends return in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt collaboration that we never saw coming this week in a popular RPG experience.
The Witcher series from CD Projekt RED is one of the most popular in the video game industry, but perhaps the most popular of all is 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which launched on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before being ported to other platforms over the years.
“You are Geralt of Rivia, mercenary monster slayer. Before you stand on a war-torn, monster-infested Continent, you can explore at will. Your current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world,” reads the synopsis of The Witcher 3.
We Love The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3 was so popular that, despite being the third entry in the series, it was many fans’ introduction to Geralt of Rivia, Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, Yennefer of Vengerberg and Triss Merigold.
In that respect, the upcoming The Witcher 4 will likely achieve the same as its predecessor, not only becoming another critically acclaimed release from CDPR, but it will also welcome new fans to The Continent.
However, despite being revealed earlier this year with a stunning Unreal Engine 5 gameplay presentation, The Witcher 4 does not have a release date. Many hope that it will be released in the next couple of years, before the arrival of next-gen consoles.
In the meantime, what can we do to keep ourselves busy, especially if we want a dose of that Witcher goodness? Well, for starters, we can always replay The Witcher 3. Alternatively, if you’re looking for something a little different, you might want to check out this free-to-play RPG, Sword of Convallaria.
“Fantasy Tactical RPG revitalising the beloved Japanese turn-based and pixel art genre. Collect and train a roster of mercenaries, customise your squad, and use your own strategy to save the nation of Iria,” the synopsis of Sword of Convallaria reads. “Journey through a world of plot twists where every choice you make will reshape your destiny.”
News of the Sword of Convallaria and The Witcher 3 collaboration was announced on Twitter via the official account of the free-to-play game in question, with the new campaign launching this week on Friday, 28 November.

“This little clip is way better than the entire Netflix show,” replied SuppaTenshi to the tweet that featured a stunning animated tease of the collaboration.
“They cooked with this cinematic and the whole update!” exclaimed jacked_jedi.
“I would have watched this whole series if it were like this. freaking sick!” declared drlunick.
Of course, when the release date for The Witcher 4 drops, we’ll update you right away. We might just have to be very patient for when that time comes.
As for Sword of Convallaria, it’s out now on PC, Android and iOS devices.
