Like other major companies in the industry, Electronic Arts is heavily adopting generative artificial intelligence with the aim of eliminating jobs and automating certain tasks. However, this strategy seems to be causing several internal concerns.
The TweakTown website reports that the American publisher is using AI, notably through its generative chatbot ReefGPT. This allows it to reduce costs and carry out operations directly in game development. Unfortunately, these experimental tools are said to cause coding errors and “hallucinations,” which result in an increased workload for employees.
These employees also report feeling very anxious about the fear of being laid off. Business Insider adds that AI testing takes place in real time during office hours. This results in a real waste of time for the company and additional costs, as employees have to resolve these malfunctions.
