Warner Bros has confirmed a third Mortal Kombat movie even before the debut of Mortal Kombat 2 in theaters, delayed until May 2026.
The American production company says it is “very excited and confident” that many fans are looking forward to the second film. Executive producer Jeremy Slater confirmed the news at New York Comic-Con.
“Our friends at New Line and Warner Bros. are so happy with this movie, they’re so excited, they’re so convinced that there’s a huge fanbase waiting for it, that they’ve already hired me to start writing the next installment.”
Of course, the potential failure of Mortal Kombat 2 at the box office next year could change those plans. Finally, a short clip from the feature film has been posted online.
