The Switch 2 version of Skyrim Anniversary Edition features big improvements

Bethesda Softworks had gone and released Skyrim once again on another platform. The anniversary edition of the RPG now has a native version on Switch 2.

The YouTube channel “ElAnalistaDeBits” compared this with the one available on Switch. On Nintendo’s latest console, Skyrim benefits from major graphical improvements. The textures are much finer, and elements such as shadows and lighting have been greatly reworked. The vegetation is also much denser.

Unfortunately, the game still runs at 30 FPS on Switch 2. It displays in dynamic 1440p at 30 FPS when docked and in dynamic 1080p at 30 FPS in handheld mode. No display mode allows for a higher frame rate. Bugs also persist in the rendering of water. Finally, it’s worth noting that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition weighs in at over 53 GB on Switch 2, compared to around 13 GB for the Switch version.
