This week, Ari Gibson and William Pellen from Team Cherry gave a lengthy interview to Bloomberg. They discussed several topics related to Hollow Knight: Silksong, including its nomination for The Game Awards 2025.
The developers said they might not attend the ceremony as they are “pretty busy.” As for the possibility of recording an audio message to accept the βGame of the Yearβ award, neither man is considering doing so. Both Gibson and Pellen believe that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will win because, unlike Silksong, it seems to be universally acclaimed.
“This year, I think we’re in the clear. I think Expedition 33 is exceptional and generally well received. Whereas we’re on a knife edge, because some people like it (Silksong) and others hate it.””
Remember that for the Game Awards, the jury’s votes count for 90% of the total and the public’s votes for 10%.

It’s exciting to see the enthusiasm from the Silksong devs about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! Their confidence in the game speaks volumes about the hard work and creativity that has gone into it. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
