The Resident Evil 0 remake will feature an expanded storyline and a new cast

Given the critical and commercial success of its previous remakes, Capcom is logically planning to re-release other titles in the Resident Evil series. This week, the website MP1st reported new details about Resident Evil 0 Remake.

The project has reportedly been in development for several years and is codenamed Chamber (in reference to the protagonist Rebecca Chambers). A new cast has also been recruited. Voice and motion capture for the actors appears to have begun in 2024. Jon McLaren, who appeared in the video games Far Cry 5 and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, is likely to be involved in Resident Evil 0 Remake. He could play Billy Coen.

Furthermore, while the story is expected to remain close to that of the original game released in 2002, it has reportedly been expanded with additional plot elements. For example, the train driver (who appears in the game’s introductory level) will play a more important role in the adventure. He is expected to betray Rebecca by locking her up with zombies at the beginning of the game and then encounter her again later on.

Despite these factors, it is important to note that Resident Evil 0 Remake is not expected to be released before 2028. Capcom is reportedly prioritizing the remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, which could arrive as early as the first quarter of 2027.
