The PS5 has sold over 92 million consoles

It’s Sony’s turn to publish its figures for the quarter ending December 31, 2025. The Japanese company has, of course, taken stock of sales of its home console.

Eight million PS5s were sold during these three months, bringing the total to around 92.2 million units since the initial launch in November 2020. This represents a decrease of 1.5 million units compared to the same period in 2024. The PS5 remains almost neck and neck with the PS4 over an equivalent period of time on the market, despite a much higher price tag.

In addition, combined game sales on both consoles reached 97.2 million copies during the quarter. Sony also counted 132 million active users on the PlayStation Network (up 3 million).

Finally, Sony reassured investors about memory supply.

“We are already able to procure the minimum quantity necessary to manage the year-end sales period.”
