The original Final Fantasy VII is getting a new version on Steam

It’s rather surprising, but Square Enix has decided to release an enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII on PC. The current version, originally launched on PlayStation in 1997, will be renamed FINAL FANTASY VII – 2013 Edition.

When the new version is released, the 2013 version will no longer be available for purchase. Owners of the latter will still be able to download it from their library and play it as normal. It should also be noted that save files will not be transferable from one version to the other.

Finally, this modernized Final Fantasy VII will feature an improved gameplay experience.
