We got some good news on X! The Octopath Traveler series has now sold a total of 6 million copies.
For those not in the known, Octopath Traveler is a JRPG series developed by Square Enix and Acquire, known for its HD-2D visual style, i.e. retro 2D sprites in modern 3D settings. Each game features eight playable characters, each with their own story, role (warrior, mage, thief, etc.) and unique skills. Players can start with the hero of their choice and recruit others freely, offering a great deal of freedom in terms of progression.
Available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Mobile, and Nintendo Switch, the franchise won over players with its first installment in 2018 and continues to do so with Octopath Traveler 0, released in December 2025.
