This week, the new president of Xbox spoke about the brand’s future console. Currently named Project Helix, this machine should allow gamers to enjoy both Xbox and PC ecosystems simultaneously.
Now, the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, which specializes in tech, has conducted an initial technical analysis of the console. According to this information, Project Helix will offer ray tracing performance 20 times greater than that of the Xbox Series X and six times greater in terms of pixels. The latter is the process of converting a 3D scene into pixels.
The performance gain would also be considerable thanks to the Magnus APU processor with RDNA 5 architecture, which allows each computing unit to be about 65% faster. As a result, the next-generation Xbox could exceed 120 FPS on certain games.
Of course, the price tag is likely to be quite steep. The price is expected to be at least around $1,000 and should not exceed $1,500. These prices are practically prohibitive in the home console market.
