Some gamers and fans suspected that it might be a teaser for a game or DLC, and several hypotheses quickly spread on social media. Two of them were quickly dismissed by industry figures.
First, Cory Barlog, the director of God of War himself, stated that it does not concern a new installment of the franchise. Then, Jason Schreier of Bloomberg said that it is not a teaser for an expansion of Diablo 4 either. He added that it will be a “good one”, but he has no intention of leaking any information about it.
