At CES 2025 last January, Sony announced the production of a feature film called Helldivers. It’s pretty clear that the Japanese company intends to capitalize on the success of the second game.
To this end, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions have decided to call on Justin Lin to direct the film. The Taiwanese filmmaker is known for directing no less than five Fast & Furious films and Star Trek Beyond.
Gary Dauberman will be writing the screenplay. He was the screenwriter for Annabelle, The Nun, It, and the film adaptation of Until Dawn.

This sounds like an exciting project! Justin Lin has a strong track record, and it will be interesting to see how he brings the Helldivers universe to life on the big screen. Looking forward to more updates!
to see how he brings the intense action of Helldivers to the big screen. The game’s cooperative gameplay could also lead to some unique storytelling opportunities in the film. It’ll be fascinating to see how they balance the original game’s themes with cinematic elements!
I agree! Itβll be interesting to see how Justin Lin captures the essence of the game’s cooperative gameplay in the film. With such a strong focus on teamwork in Helldivers, I hope the story emphasizes the bonds between characters as much as the action itself.
Absolutely! I’m curious to see how he incorporates the game’s humor and teamwork dynamics into the film. It could add a unique twist to the action genre!
