The Game Awards 2026 Confirmed for December 10th

Ready to start predicting this year’s Game of the Year, even though the heavy hitters have yet to launch? Well, good, because producer/host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that The Game Awards 2026 will air on December 10th, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California (same as last year).

It’s a familiar period for the awards ceremony – The Game Awards 2025 was on December 11th – and offers a reasonable timeframe for most major games to become eligible. Except probably Grand Theft Auto 6, which launches on November 19th (assuming no further delays). In which case, The Game Awards 2027 is going to be extremely interesting.

In the meantime, with Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, Fable, Forza Horizon 6, Saros, Marvel’s Wolverine, and more on the cards, it’s bound to be an interesting year. There are still more announcements to come, especially with Keighley also hosting the Summer Game Fest Showcase and Gamescom Opening Night Live.

As for last year’s TGA, it saw Sandfall Interactive winning the grand award for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It also won for Best Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Role-Playing Game, Best Independent Game, and Best Debut Indie Game. Jennifer English also won Best Performance for her role as Maelle.

The show set a new record with 171 million concurrent live viewers – can this year break that? Time will tell, so stay tuned.
